Description: |

As winter sets in we seek warmth and comfort from fire, whilst several religions use this time of year to celebrate light, generated by the biggest fire of them all, the sun. Our programme explores how fire and fury have inspired some of the most evocative and thrilling music in the repertoire, from Haydn's turbulent period in the 18th century to early 20th century ballet and works referencing heriocs in two World Wars. Something for everyone!
