    - Vaughan Williams: English Folksong Suite
    - Grieg: Piano Concerto - One of the top great piano concertos, always a winner, played by a Countess of Munster young soloist.
    - Kalinnikov: Symphony No 1 - This piece deserves to be better known, it is full of tunes and colour and musical thrills, a cross between Tchaikovsky and Rimsky Korsakov, with a bit of Borodin thrown in.

    A first time for Richmondshire Orchestra in Leyburn at a stunning venue.

    Music of Britain

    The centrepiece of this concert is Lennon/McCartney’s Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band. This famous album has been orchestrated by Dee Palmer, from Jethro Tull, for large orchestra plus drum kit and electric guitar!

    It is stupendous don’t miss it.

    The rest of the programme is of mainly Light Music, including Ernest Tomlinson’s  1st Suite of English Folk Dances.

    A great programme for a summer afternoon concert.
